Myanmar has won the first-ever Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) gold medal at the Asian Games, defeating Indonesia 4–0 in the Grand Final at Aichi-Nagoya 2026. The tournament marked MLBB’s debut as an official Asian Games medal event.

Myanmar Makes MLBB History

The MLBB competition concluded on October 1 after three days of action at the Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname, Japan. Myanmar swept Indonesia 4–0 in the Grand Final to become the first Asian Games MLBB champion.

The victory came in the game’s first appearance as an official medal event at the Asian Games, adding a new milestone to MLBB’s competitive history.

Indonesia Takes Silver

Indonesia finished with the silver medal after reaching the Grand Final against Myanmar. The tournament’s bronze medals went to Malaysia and Mongolia.

The final used the Best-of-7 format, while the earlier knockout matches were played as Best-of-3 series.

How the Tournament Was Played

The competition featured 11 national teams divided into four groups. The group stage followed a single round-robin format, with each match played as a Best-of-3. The top two teams from every group advanced to the quarterfinals.

The playoffs used a single-elimination format, with the quarterfinals and semifinals played as Best-of-3 series before the Best-of-7 Grand Final.

Southeast Asia Dominates the Podium

The tournament featured strong representation from Southeast Asia, with the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar and Cambodia all reaching the main stage. Other participating teams included Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia and Hong Kong, China.

Before the tournament began, Hotspawn's preview highlighted the Philippines and Indonesia as its projected gold and silver contenders, while Myanmar and Cambodia were identified among the teams capable of reaching the medal positions. The final results instead saw Myanmar take gold, Indonesia silver, and Malaysia and Mongolia bronze.
