The Battlegrounds Mobile India Showdown (BMSD) 2026 Grand Finals faced a major disruption on October 16 after Match 5 was rehosted because four teams had their player IDs in the lobby despite their players not being present on stage.
The incident affected the original results of the Miramar match, including 16 finishes secured by K9 Esports. KRAFTON India rehosted the game, removing those finishes from the standings.
Why Was Match 5 Rehosted?
During the first Miramar match of Day 1, GodLike Esports, Myth Official, Revenant XSpark and Version 1 x Blue Army were present in the in-game lobby, but their players had not joined from the stage.
K9 Esports took advantage of the situation by eliminating the four inactive squads, earning 16 finishes in the process. However, the match was subsequently rehosted, and the original result was voided.
KRAFTON India had not publicly explained how the four teams' IDs entered the lobby without their players being ready when TalkEsport published its report.
K9 Esports Loses 16 Finishes After the Rehost
The decision significantly affected K9 Esports, as each elimination is worth one point under the tournament's scoring system. The team therefore lost 16 finish points from the original Match 5 result.
K9 had started the Grand Finals strongly, winning the opening match on Rondo with 25 points. The team was also among the leading contenders during Day 1, making the voided finishes particularly significant in a competition where every point can influence the overall standings.
Blitz Epigrotive Gaming and Welt Esports Among Day 1's Top Teams
Despite the Match 5 disruption, the opening day featured strong performances from several teams. K9 Esports won Match 1, while Blitz Epigrotive Gaming and Welt Esports also featured among the leading teams in the available Day 1 standings.
The Grand Finals continue until October 18, with 16 teams competing across 18 matches for a share of the ₹1 crore prize pool. The champion will also earn qualification for the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2026.
With two matchdays remaining, the rehost has added another talking point to the tournament, while the teams will look to build their standings ahead of the final day's Smash Rule.
