Cronos: Lazarus gives players more ways to fight back. The expansion follows the Warden, explores his past as the Pathfinder, and builds its combat around the abilities of a former elite agent.

Bloober Team’s latest showcase, “Fight like the Pathfinder,” highlights the expansion’s faster, more aggressive action.

The extra power comes with a catch: the Collective has sent something designed specifically to hunt him.

The Pathfinder takes centre stage in a four-minute showcase

Bloober’s earlier developer diary introduced the abilities driving Lazarus’ combat. Players can teleport, create decoys, and use a new weapon called Gladius.

These tools give the Pathfinder more options when enemies close in. He can reposition quickly, misdirect enemies, and avoid direct fights when necessary. Bloober also confirms that he is a younger version of the Warden, linking the new playable character to the original game.

The story follows his attempt to revive a lost Essence after becoming separated from the Collective. According to the official expansion website, he must complete that mission while staying ahead of a relentless hunter.

The Warden’s refuge in the Terminal has also been compromised. His pursuer can adapt and match his strength, leading to increasingly difficult encounters. Players can use decoys and briefly turn invisible, giving them alternatives to fighting head-on.

However, the Warden has been weakened by years of survival. He still has powerful abilities, but he does not begin the expansion at full strength.

Lazarus will also explore the Warden’s transformation and reveal more about the Collective, giving returning players a deeper look at the character and the world.

Developed by Bloober Team and PixelAnt Games, Cronos: Lazarus is scheduled to launch in fall 2026 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. An exact release date has not been announced. The Steam version requires Cronos: The New Dawn.
