FURIA have successfully defended their Thunderpick World Championship title, defeating BetBoom Team 3–2 in the Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) grand final on October 18, 2026, in Malta. The Brazilian roster claimed the $500,000 first-place prize after recovering from a two-map deficit to secure the championship.

The tournament ran from October 14 to 18 at BLAST Arena Studios, bringing together eight teams competing for a share of the $1 million prize pool.

FURIA Complete Comeback in Five-Map Final

FURIA opened the best-of-five grand final with a convincing 13–6 victory on Dust II. However, BetBoom responded on Ancient, winning 19–16 in overtime before taking Nuke 13–9 to move within one map of the title.

Facing elimination, FURIA regrouped on Mirage, securing a narrow 13–11 win to force a deciding map. The Brazilian side then delivered a commanding 13–6 performance on Cache, completing the comeback and lifting the trophy for a second consecutive year.

The result demonstrated FURIA's ability to recover under pressure after BetBoom had turned the series in its favour. Despite losing the final, BetBoom's performance established the team as a serious contender against established international opponents.

BetBoom's Impressive Run Ends in Second Place

BetBoom's road to the grand final included a 2–1 semifinal victory over Team Falcons. After losing the opening map, the team recovered to win Dust II and Mirage, eliminating one of the tournament's leading contenders.

FURIA, meanwhile, reached the final by defeating Aurora Gaming 2–0 in their semifinal. The Brazilian side maintained its strong playoff form, although the championship match proved considerably more demanding.

Aurora later secured third place by defeating Team Falcons 2–1 in the third-place decider.

Thunderpick World Championship 2026 Prize Money

FURIA received $500,000 for finishing first, while BetBoom Team earned $250,000 as runners-up. Aurora Gaming collected $100,000 for third place, and Team Falcons received $50,000 for finishing fourth.

The championship adds another international title to FURIA's record and gives the team momentum heading into the closing stretch of the 2026 CS2 season.

With PGL Masters Bucharest scheduled for October 24–31, FURIA will have little time to celebrate before returning to competition. Their successful title defence also leaves BetBoom with a strong result to build on as the team continues challenging established names in the international CS2 scene.
