G2 Esports saved their strongest finish for the deciding map, winning seven straight rounds on Ascent to beat T1 2–1 at Valorant Champions 2026 on October 11. The victory secured G2 a top-four finish and eliminated Pacific’s last remaining representative, with T1 exiting in fifth–sixth place.
After losing 2–0 to Team Vitality in the upper semifinals, G2 had no room for another defeat. T1 arrived having survived an elimination series against Paper Rex, and made G2 work through three maps to advance.
On T1’s Lotus pick, G2 took a 7–5 halftime lead before the second half tightened up. T1 recovered from 11–8 down to draw level, but G2 claimed the final two rounds for a 13–11 win. jawgemo delivered 27 kills on Raze, matching Meteor’s tally on Chamber.
T1 returned the favour on G2’s Abyss pick. Following a 6–6 first half, G2 edged ahead 9–8 before T1 won four consecutive rounds to take control. iZu’s 21 kills helped T1 close out the map 13–10, forcing Ascent.
The decider was evenly balanced at 6–6, but T1 did not win another round. G2’s defence shut out the entire second half to secure Ascent 13–6, with leaf recording 21 kills and BABYBAY adding 19.
According to the VLR match statistics, jawgemo led G2 with 58 kills, while Meteor finished with a series-high 60 despite T1’s defeat.
G2 Face 100 Thieves Again With Elimination at Stake
G2 will meet 100 Thieves on October 16 for a place in the lower final. It is a rematch of their upper quarterfinal, which G2 won 2–0 before falling to Vitality.
Since that defeat, 100 Thieves have fought back through the lower bracket, eliminating defending champions NRG to reach this meeting. G2 already know they can win the matchup; this time, the loser’s tournament ends.
