Invictus Gaming have secured China's fourth and final seed for the 2026 League of Legends World Championship after defeating JD Gaming 3-1 in the LPL Regional Finals. The result sends JD Gaming to the 2026 Demacia Cup Global Invitational, which begins on October 3.
Invictus Gaming Secure the Final Worlds Spot
The victory came in the lower-bracket final of the LPL Regional Finals. With the 3-1 win, Invictus Gaming completed China's four-team Worlds lineup alongside Anyone's Legend, Bilibili Gaming and Top Esports. All four Chinese representatives will begin their Worlds run in the Swiss Stage.
Invictus Gaming are returning to Worlds for the second consecutive year. At the 2025 World Championship, the team finished 17th after a 1-3 Play-In defeat against T1. This time, direct seeding allows iG to skip the Play-In stage and move directly to the Swiss Stage in Allen, Texas.
Rookie Returns to the Worlds Main Stage
The series also marked Song "Rookie" Eui-jin's return to the World Championship main stage after seven years. The 2018 World Champion recorded four different champion performances during the series, playing Syndra, Aurora, Ryze and Ahri.
Wei Helps Close Out the Series
Yan "Wei" Yang-Wei played a key role in Invictus Gaming's victory. The jungler helped create early-game advantages across the map and made an impact in teamfights.
His strongest performances came in Game 2, where he recorded a 5/1/10 score on Qiyana, and Game 4, where he finished 6/3/13 on Vi to help Invictus Gaming close out the series.
