Paper Rex secured their place in the VALORANT Champions 2026 playoffs on September 29, recovering from a map down to defeat G2 Esports 2–1 in Group C’s winners’ match. The victory followed their opening win over Team Liquid, completing an unbeaten run through the group’s upper bracket.

G2 struck first on Paper Rex’s pick of Split. With the teams level at 6–6 at halftime, G2 pulled ahead after the break to claim a 13–9 victory. BABYBAY and trent contributed 19 kills each, putting the Americas side one map away from qualification.

Paper Rex answered on G2’s choice of Haven, establishing an 8–4 halftime advantage. G2 narrowed the gap in the second half, but PRX held on for a 13–11 win to take the series to Lotus.

The decider was again level at halftime, with neither team separating themselves at 6–6. Paper Rex then won seven of the next ten rounds to close out Lotus 13–9 and complete the reverse sweep.

Jinggg led the server with 61 kills across the series, supported by d4v41’s 57.

BABYBAY finished with 56 for G2, but the team could not convert its opening-map advantage into qualification.

G2 await TYLOO or Team Liquid in Group C decider

G2 still have one opportunity to join Paper Rex in the playoffs. They will face the winner of the October 1 elimination match between TYLOO and Team Liquid in the Group C decider on October 3.

A TYLOO victory would set up a rematch of G2’s tournament opener, which G2 won 2–0. If Liquid advance, the decider would bring together the two teams beaten by Paper Rex.

The winner claims Group C’s remaining playoff berth, while the loser exits Champions. After letting a series lead slip, G2 must now recover for a match that will decide their tournament survival.
