Karmine Corp could have a little more breathing room. Co-founder and president Kamel “Kameto” Kebir says the organisation has cleared approximately €5 million in debt and can start looking towards investment again. There is, however, an unresolved disagreement over payments to its Rocket League players.
Kameto discussed the club’s finances during an October 5 Twitch stream, following concerns about delayed salaries. According to The Esports Radar’s account of a stream summary, he described KC as previously being “on life support” and said that difficult stretch was now behind it.
His update went beyond the balance sheet. Problems involving KC’s bootcamp and premises had reportedly been resolved, with plans to recruit more staff for content creation, player support and merchandising. Kameto also hinted at a future announcement, although fans will have to wait for the details.
Rocket League Players’ Agency Offers a Different Account
The payment situation is less clear-cut. While Kameto acknowledged salary delays and said they had been resolved, Prodigy SEG CEO Jérôme Coupez challenged that account. His agency represents KC players Axel “Vatira” Touret and Tristan “Atow” Soyez.
“To date, several hundred thousand euros remain unpaid, without a precise response or concrete regularization plan,” Coupez wrote, according to a translation published by Insider Gaming. The publication reported that he later clarified the amount exceeded €300,000 and was not simply unpaid bonuses.
That disagreement comes at a sensitive moment for KC’s roster. Sheep Esports reported on October 3 that Vatira, Atow and Team Vitality’s Alexis “zen” Bernier had reached a verbal agreement with Gentle Mates on salary and conditions. However, contracts remained unsigned and buyout negotiations were still unresolved. The report also linked salary delays to the KC players’ interest in other opportunities.
For KC supporters, Kameto’s update offers grounds for optimism about the club’s next chapter. But with the players’ agency presenting a different picture, the reported debt repayment does not yet settle the questions surrounding outstanding player pay.
