Porsche is bringing back its Esports Challenge for 2026, giving sim racers a chance to turn their virtual racing skills into a real-world driving experience. The fourth season will take place on iRacing, with competitors racing Porsche’s 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport.
The championship will also offer a pathway into Porsche’s wider sim racing ecosystem, with the overall winner eligible to compete in the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB.
Five Rounds Across UK Circuits
The 2026 championship will feature five rounds beginning on October 20 at Donington Park GP. The schedule then moves to a fan-voted circuit, Silverstone, Oulton Park and Brands Hatch, with the final round taking place on November 17.
Each round includes two 30-minute races, with practice and qualifying held before the races. All events will be broadcast live through RaceSpot TV's YouTube channel and Porsche's official Twitch channel.
Pro and Am Drivers Compete
For 2026, both the PRO and AM classes will use the Porsche Cayman GT4. The classes are separated using drivers' iRacing Sports Car licence ratings, with drivers above 3,000 iRating placed in PRO.
The championship is also designed to create a more level playing field, with fixed setups used during races. Race 1 finishing positions determine the starting order for Race 2.
Sim Racing Can Lead to Real Driving
One of the biggest attractions of the championship is its real-world prizes. The top three drivers in both PRO and AM will receive a driving experience at the Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone.
The overall winner will also have the opportunity to compete in the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB, giving the competition a direct connection to Porsche's broader virtual motorsport pathway.
With the combination of online racing, real-world driving opportunities and a potential step toward professional sim racing competition, Porsche's 2026 Esports Challenge highlights how sim racing can connect the virtual and physical sides of motorsport.
