South Korea has won the League of Legends gold medal at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, defeating Chinese Taipei 3–0 in the final at Aichi Sky Expo. The victory gives South Korea back-to-back Asian Games gold medals in LoL, while Faker became the first esports athlete to compete at three consecutive Asian Games.
South Korea Sweeps Chinese Taipei
South Korea maintained its unbeaten run throughout the tournament, completing a 3–0 sweep in the final. The team did not drop a single set from the group stage through the semifinals and final.
The final lineup featured Zeus, Canyon, Zeka, Gumayusi and Keria, with Zeka playing in the mid lane instead of Faker. Despite Faker not playing the final, South Korea controlled the series and secured another Asian Games title.
Faker Makes Asian Games History
For Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, the gold medal added another milestone to his international career. He competed at his third consecutive Asian Games after appearing at Jakarta-Palembang 2018, where esports was a demonstration event, and Hangzhou 2023, where LoL became an official medal event.
Faker won his second official Asian Games gold medal with the 2026 victory, having previously won gold with South Korea at Hangzhou. Zeus and Keria also collected their second Asian Games gold medals.
South Korea Completes Unbeaten Run
South Korea had already established a strong start in Group B, defeating Chinese Taipei, India and Hong Kong. The team then defeated Saudi Arabia 2–0 in the semifinals before completing the final sweep.
The LoL gold was also South Korea's second esports gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games. The country finished its esports campaign with two gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
A Second Straight Asian Games Title
South Korea previously won the inaugural official Asian Games LoL gold at Hangzhou 2023. With its 2026 victory, the country becomes the champion at both editions where League of Legends has been an official medal event.
