Team Liquid kept their VALORANT Champions 2026 campaign alive on October 1, defeating TYLOO 2–1 in Group C’s elimination match. After trading map victories, Liquid delivered a commanding 13–2 win on Lotus to end the Chinese side’s tournament run.
Liquid opened on their pick of Split but faced resistance despite taking a 4–0 lead. TYLOO answered with seven consecutive rounds and entered halftime 7–5 ahead. Liquid then dominated their attacking half, conceding just one further round to secure a 13–8 victory. kamo led the map with 29 kills on Raze, supported by GSR’s 21 on Yoru.
TYLOO responded on Summit. Liquid held a 7–5 halftime advantage, but their attack stalled as TYLOO won eight straight defensive rounds to close out the map 13–7. The result gave China its first map victory of the tournament and forced a decider.
That momentum disappeared on Lotus. Liquid swept all 12 rounds of their defensive half, leaving TYLOO facing an overwhelming deficit. TYLOO avoided the shutout by winning the second-half pistol and following round, but Liquid converted the next to complete the series.
kamo finished the three-map contest with 53 kills, while GSR added 49. The duo combined for 24 first kills, giving Liquid a consistent threat in the opening engagements.
Liquid face G2 for Group C’s remaining playoff berth
Liquid now meet G2 Esports on October 3 at 2:30 PM IST, with the winner joining Paper Rex in the playoffs. Both teams enter the decider with a 1–1 group record, having beaten TYLOO and lost to PRX.
G2 reached this stage after surrendering a one-map lead against Paper Rex, who recovered to win their winners’ match 2–1. Liquid’s route has required a recovery of their own following an opening defeat to the same opponent.
Liquid coach LohaN acknowledged the difficulty of preparing for G2 with limited time. Speaking after the TYLOO series, he emphasised the team’s mindset and attitude alongside the challenge of preparing specifically for their next opponent.
For Liquid, the task is to carry their decisive Lotus performance into another elimination match. G2 stand between them and a playoff place, with neither side having another chance after this series.
