The University Esports Championship (UEC) Season 3 National Finals are set to take place from September 21 to 23 in Kolkata, bringing together 26 universities for three days of collegiate esports competition. The event will be held at Offbeat CCU, with a total prize pool of ₹1.5 million across four gaming categories. 

Four Games Across Different Platforms

UEC Season 3 will feature competitions across PC, mobile, console and virtual reality. The four games are Valorant, BGMI, EA Sports FC 26 and VR Tennis. 

Valorant will use a single-elimination format, with best-of-one matches leading up to the semifinals and final, which will be best-of-three. BGMI will use a cumulative leaderboard based on six matches per day across the three-day event.

EA Sports FC 26 will begin with a round-robin stage before moving into the knockout rounds, while VR Tennis will use a points leaderboard followed by head-to-head semifinals and finals. 

The ₹1.5 million prize pool will be distributed across all four categories, with the top eight ranked teams in each vertical receiving a share. 

26 Universities Competing

The participating universities earned their places through more than 15 LAN qualifiers held across India between January and May 2026. A Last Chance Qualifier was also held online in July to provide another route into the finals. 

The lineup includes VIT Vellore, IIT Kharagpur, MIT-ADT, IISER Kolkata, Lovely Professional University, IEM Kolkata, SRM University Amaravati, KL University, GITAM Vizag, Reva University Bengaluru, DES Pune University, VIT Andhra Pradesh, Techno India University, Calcutta University, MAKAUT Bengal, Delhi University and other institutions. 

What Fans Can Expect

The event will be open to the public, with doors opening at 9 AM each day and activities continuing until 8 PM. Alongside the main competition, the venue will feature experience zones where visitors can play games and interact with other gamers. 

A large LED screen will show Valorant and BGMI finals coverage, while the event will also include sim racing stations, cosplay, dance battles and creator meet-and-greets. Gyan Gaming is confirmed to attend, with additional appearances planned.
