Global Esports moved within one victory of the VALORANT Champions 2026 playoffs on October 2, defeating EDward Gaming 2–0 in Group B’s elimination match. Wins on Summit and Sunset kept the Indian organisation’s campaign alive while ending EDG’s tournament in front of their home crowd.

GE established control early on their pick of Summit, racing to a 7–0 lead. EDG recovered four rounds before halftime, but the 8–4 deficit left them needing a substantial turnaround. PatMen’s second-half ace helped GE maintain their advantage as they closed out the map 13–5.

PatMen finished Summit with 21 kills on Astra, while UdoTan added 19 on Neon. GE’s strong start gave them room to absorb EDG’s brief recovery without surrendering control.

EDG responded with a 3–0 opening on their Sunset pick, converting both the pistol and bonus rounds. GE then won five consecutive rounds, with xavi8k helping drive the response on Omen. Smoggy’s four-kill round kept EDG within reach, but GE still entered halftime 7–5 ahead.

After the break, Kr1stal’s pistol-round triple gave GE another opening. UdoTan then delivered 11 kills across four rounds as GE pulled away to seal Sunset 13–6 and complete the sweep.

UdoTan led the series with 41 kills and 313 ACS. Kr1stal contributed 35 kills against just 18 deaths, while PatMen added 34. ZmjjKK topped EDG’s scoreboard with 30 kills.

LOUD stand between Global Esports and a playoff berth

Global Esports will face LOUD in Group B’s decider on October 4 at 2:30 PM IST. The winner joins Team Vitality in the playoffs, while the loser exits Champions.

Both teams arrive with a victory over EDG and a defeat to Vitality. Global Esports lost their opener 2–1 before recovering in the elimination match, while LOUD followed their opening sweep of EDG with a 2–0 loss in the winners’ match.

Speaking after the victory, GE coach Platoon highlighted LOUD’s determination and stressed the importance of maintaining his team’s rhythm. He cautioned against overthinking the matchup, emphasising the need to keep playing to GE’s strengths.

The EDG series offered an encouraging response under elimination pressure. Against LOUD, GE will need another complete performance to turn that recovery into a place in the knockout stage.
