Nodding Heads Games has shared a closer look at how Raji and her younger brother Darsh will fight in Raji: Kaliyuga. The new gameplay presentation puts their partnership at the center of the sequel, giving each sibling a distinct set of abilities.

Released during Tokyo Game Show 2026, the three-minute video features game director Avichal Singh explaining the two protagonists and their roles in combat. He describes Raji as “the warrior of faith” and Darsh as “the dreamwalker.”

For players of Raji: An Ancient Epic, that partnership builds on the original game’s central relationship. Its story followed Raji’s efforts to rescue her younger brother after a demonic invasion separated them. Set in ancient India, the adventure drew on Hindu and Balinese mythology, with environments inspired by Pahari art and Rajasthan’s medieval architecture. Original game’s official description

The sequel moves the story forward six years. Raji is now an experienced warrior, while Darsh is troubled by visions of the past and future. Their journey takes them through different lokas, or realms, towards the Eternal Summit after Mahabalasura opens the heavens prematurely and plunges the realms into war. Official sequel description

The latest presentation focuses on how those changes translate into gameplay, with the siblings approaching the same dangers in different ways.

Raji’s Trishul meets Darsh’s reality-bending powers

Raji’s combat combines acrobatic martial arts with her divine Trishul. She can push enemies back, knock them down and follow up with quick finishing attacks. Launching opponents into the air or jumping off them gives her further ways to keep the pressure on.

Darsh fights primarily from a distance. He throws orbs and uses powers called Siddhis to manipulate gravity, time and energy. Players can combine these abilities to produce different effects, including gravity tornadoes that disable enemies and attacks that summon black holes.

Their differences also extend to defense. Both characters have customized evasive movements with distinct follow-up attacks, allowing players to turn a successful dodge into an opening to strike. The Steam description highlights customizable dodging capabilities and the ability to shape Darsh’s fighting style through combinations of his powers.

Players will control both siblings during the adventure, although switching is tied to the narrative.

“Characters switch based on story events and act as companions to one another,” Singh explains in the video.

The partnership extends beyond combat, with platforming, puzzles and abilities designed to bring the siblings together. Steam lists the game as a single-player experience.

Raji: Kaliyuga is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. A release date has not yet been announced.
