Wardogs has had little trouble attracting players. Keeping its battles fair and enjoyable is now drawing more attention, with developer Bulkhead asking the community which problems need addressing before Season 2.

The tactical shooter sold 1.25 million copies within its first 24 hours of early access. Its large battles and rewards for supporting teammates gave players plenty to explore, but more time on the battlefield has also exposed frustrations.

Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer has acknowledged concerns about balance and design decisions while inviting players to help identify priorities. Alongside plans for new seasonal content, he is asking what should change during the current season.

“What is the biggest ISSUE you are seeing right now that you would change mid-season?” Joe Brammer wrote on X.

Bulkhead seeks feedback on changes players want mid-season

One problem already acknowledged by the studio concerns team balance. Wardogs pits three sides against one another, but Brammer says blue team is having a particularly difficult time.

“We definitely have a balancing issue,” he wrote in a September 17 response to a claim that red team wins too often.

His explanation offered a different picture: green wins most frequently, green and red are relatively close, and blue’s poor performance has multiple causes. He did not provide specific win-rate figures or a detailed fix in that response.

That distinction matters. A frustrating losing streak can highlight a problem, but it does not establish which team has the overall advantage or why. Brammer’s response confirms the studio recognises an imbalance without settling the question of how to correct it.

Other rough edges include the opening levels, where players cannot immediately purchase body armour or a helmet. Keyboard vehicle controls have also drawn criticism for feeling awkward.

Those observations concern more than shooting. Wardogs rewards activities such as transporting teammates and delivering supplies, making vehicle handling relevant to players who spend their matches supporting the frontline. However, these are reported criticisms, not changes Bulkhead has confirmed.

For Season 2, Brammer has promised additional content and changes. His request for mid-season feedback leaves room for earlier improvements, but does not commit the studio to implementing every suggestion. He also made clear that Bulkhead will retain control of the game’s direction.

The comments reviewed do not specify a Season 2 launch date or a schedule for balance fixes. For players, the concrete development is that team imbalance has been acknowledged and feedback is being sought. Which concerns become actual changes will depend on what Bulkhead announces next.
