FISSURE Playground #3 is delivering plenty of surprises as the $1 million Counter-Strike 2 tournament moves deeper into its playoff stage in Suzhou, China. With 16 teams competing, several major names have already been knocked down or eliminated, while BetBoom Team and 5star eSports have produced some of the tournament’s biggest results.

The event is being played from September 8 to 13, with teams competing through double-elimination group stages before the single-elimination playoffs. The winner will take home $300,000 from the $1 million prize pool.

5star Pull Off Astralis Upset

One of the biggest surprises of the tournament came when 5star eSports eliminated Astralis. The result added another upset to an event where several highly rated teams have struggled to maintain their momentum.

Astralis had entered the tournament with a strong opening result after defeating G2 Esports 2-1. However, their run took a turn after a 0-2 loss to BetBoom Team in the upper bracket.

5star then became the team standing between Astralis and continued progression, eventually sending the Danish squad out of the tournament.

BetBoom Team have also emerged as one of the teams to watch at FISSURE Playground #3. After defeating BIG 2-0 and Astralis 2-0, BetBoom continued their run by defeating MIBR 2-0 to reach the semifinals.

The victory came after MIBR had already impressed during the group stage, including a 2-0 win over 9z and a 2-1 victory against The MongolZ.

BetBoom's run has put them firmly among the leading contenders for the tournament title, while MIBR's elimination ends their campaign after several strong performances.

The tournament has already seen several notable teams fall, including The MongolZ, BIG, FaZe Clan and GamerLegion. Meanwhile, teams such as FURIA, Legacy and BetBoom have continued their push toward the later stages.
